Welcome to MCDI

MCDI was established in March 2006 by like-minded professionals to address to foster community –driven development initiatives in the rural communities. MCDI’s specific objectives are modeled alongside the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to include but not limited to:-

• Advocacy to eradicate extreme poverty by working out ways of reviving agriculture and the fisheries sub-sector which are the mainstay of the Nyanza economy

• Promote gender mainstreaming and the empowerment of the disadvantaged sections of the community such as women, disabled and the youth

• Work with other stakeholders and partners in the health sector to improve maternal health, reduce infant morbidity and mortality, combat HIV/AIDS, Malaria and TB and other disease conditions prevalent in the lakeside communities

• Promote civic education and local level participation in all levels of governance.
